Family Faith Formation is the religious education program for families with children that was started in 2018 at the parishes of St Patrick’s in Hinckley and St Luke’s in Sandstone that have now been joined into the St John Paul II Mission Field. There are significant changes to the program for 2026-2027. Most especially, there will now be one program for both parishes. The first 1/2 of the year will meet at St Luke’s and the second at St Patrick’s. For more details, see Father’s letter here.
The registration form for 2026/2027 is here. It can be printed, filled out, and dropped off at one of the churches or take a picture and email it to the DRE or parish. Note that payment must be done at the parish. Any questions should be directed to the DRE, Deacon Jim Mostek or Father Kris. Contact information is on our Contact’s page.
Also, keep an eye out for Youth Activities, see What’s Happening here. Also, the FFF calendar contains youth evenings about once a month when there is no FFF. Instead, there will be special Youth happenings those days.

MATERIALS FOR 2026/2027
Our pre-K/K and 1st/2nd grade classes use the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) method. For details, click here.
For 2nd grade (First Penance/Communion), materials from CGS will be used this year.
AT HOME MATERIALS FOR PARENTS
This year, the older children and parents will be using Symbolon or Symbolon for Teens and other resources provided by the Augustine Institute in the FORMED program. This is available during class and at home and families are encouraged to use our provided FORMED subscription.
For FORMED access, anyone in either parish can click https://formed.org. One can easily create an account, and select 55037 … Hinckley zip code … and get access to our mission field’s FORMED account. This will work for all members of our mission field that includes both parishes. And, right now, we can watch the popular movie, “Triumph of the Heart” for free … with the mission field account … for a limited time, though. Note that this movie is not for young people as there are difficult scenes that St Maximilian Kolbe lived through before his martyrdom.
OFFSITE AND DRIVER PERMISSION FORMS
There will be offsite service activities for some youth. Each child must have a legal permission form signed by a parent or guardian before the child can participate. Anyone driving children must also complete a “Driver’s form.”
The forms can be printed, filled out, and signed and submitted. One way is to take a picture and then send to a parish email or texted to Deacon Jim. See our contact’s page here for Deacon Jim or parish emails.
Click here for the diocesan permission form.
The “Driver’s form” can be found here.
CIRCLE OF GRACE
Also below is a letter for parents that explains the Circle of Grace program covered mostly at home but with some content covered during one of the classes.
